It seems that my fingers have the itch to keep going right up until the time baby arrives, and so they do!
I started by knitting the 'Roanoke' Malabrigo that I mentioned in my last post, though I just couldn't decide how I wanted to finish them. My first thought was a ruffled cuff, but I ended up having two problems with that plan. One, I wouldn't be able to roll a ruffle, and two, I realized that I loved the rich chocolate colors so much that I wanted to be able to use them if we had a boy too. I certainly could have knit them in our 'standard' pattern, with a seed stitch cuff and matching drawstring, though if we DO have a girl, I really wanted to be able to make them more feminine in some way. My dilemma raged and my fingers sat idle and unhappy until I finally decided to just knit them down to the cuff and then wait to see what we have before adding the finishing touches.
Getting to that point freed me up to move on to something else so I knit the following longies from more yarn that I picked up when Sarah and I stopped by our yarn shop for the open house.

Small longies, that my daughter named 'Blooming Roses'
And with that, my current supply of girly yarn was extinguished. Still feeling the urge to knit, I again dug though my yarn bags and pulled out a couple of smaller remnants of 'Neptune' by ZenString, that when put together equaled enough to make something. Don't you just love it when that happens?

I lanolized both of these this morning, and now I again wait. With nothing else to do, I find that I keep pulling out 'Roanoke', just to look at it and wonder what it will become. After awhile I pack them back into my knit bag with a sigh. It's so hard for me to leave them sitting there, unfinished. It's a good thing that I'm pretty sure we're finally within our last few days of waiting!
